Miley Cyrus seeks out small towns in every country she visits so she can socialize with people her own age without running into mobs of screaming fans. The 17-year-old Disney star travels the world for her sell-out tours, and on her days off she loves to meet local girls and hang out in their favorite spots.
She says, “I really like traveling a lot so when I know it’s going to be a travel day and I’m going to a new place, I really like that. I love doing a show then having a day off and then having another show because then I meet people.
“I’ll see chicks come to me that are my age, and I’ll be like, ‘What’s actually cool?’ instead of asking somebody at my hotel that’s like 50 what they think is cool! I wanna know what someone my age is actually going to think is cool and where they hang out. So we try and find the smallest and quaintest little parts of the town so we can hang out and have a nice time.”
And her efforts to go unnoticed have foiled even the most devout “Hannah Montana” fans.
She adds, “I see my face on everything. The other day, I saw someone walk by me and they had my book, and a backpack and a shirt on. And they had no idea I walked by them.”

Miley Ray Cyrus is a 17 year old teen sensation, who was born on the 23rd November, 1992 in Nashville, Tennessee. Her birth name is Destiny Hope, but in 2008 she legally changed her name to Miley after her dad had given her the nickname "Smiley." Miley Cyrus is going Aussie for her rumoured boyfriend Liam Hemsworth – the actor has been teaching her the lingo from his native country.
The singer/actress met Hemsworth on the set of new movie The Last Song and they grew close as they filmed together in Georgia.
Cyrus, who split from model Justin Gaston earlier this year (09), has been rumoured to be dating the Aussie and the pair fuelled speculation of a new romance when they were photographed kissing in Paris, France, earlier this month (Dec09).
Cyrus has now revealed the star was by her side when she fell ill in September (09), which led to the cancellation of three gigs on her U.S. tour, and Hemsworth nursed her back to health by giving her a book of Australian phrases – to help familiarise her with the country’s slang.
The Hannah Montana star tells Australian radio show Take40, “Liam actually went to Australia and then came back. The first night he came back – I had gotten really sick – he brought me back a book to make me laugh, of all the lingo. He was like, ‘I’ve never heard half of this stuff but some of it’s pretty funny!’ It’s really funny how different yet alike America and Australia are.”
The 17-year-old recently purchased a new puppy – and she’s even given it an Australian name in honour of Hemsworth.
She adds, “I just bought a little German Shepherd and I named it Mate because I always say ‘mate’ now to Liam. So that’s my little German Shepherd dog’s name.”
The news comes after Hemsworth’s actor brother, Chris, appeared to confirm the couple’s relationship in a recent interview with the show, saying, “Miley is a very sweet girl, she is a talented actress and really down to earth. They (Liam and Miley) are very happy together.”

Singer Miley Cyrus will bid farewell to the role that made her famous, after a Disney spokeswoman confirmed that the series is scheduled to end next year.
The series, about a high school student who leads a secret life as a pop star, thrust teenager Cyrus - now 17 - into the spotlight when it began in 2006.
A big screen version of the show topped the US box office last year.
A Disney Channel executive said the series was expected "to wrap after shooting this new batch of episodes".
The current season - which is reported to start shooting this month - is set to conclude in March 2011 with "a big one-hour event".
"You never know in this business... but right now we're scheduled to wrap after shooting," Disney Channel's Senior Vice President of Programming Adam Bonnett told the New York Post.
Cyrus, the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, launched a successful pop and film career off the back of the show.
She was recently named favourite breakout movie actress at the People's Choice Awards, and stars in drama The Last Song later this year, as well as playing herself in the forthcoming Sex And The City sequel.

Miley Cyrus feels ''alive'' when she returns to her hometown of Nashville because she can go out without attracting attention to herself.
Miley Cyrus felt "alive" when she performed karaoke with her friends.
The 'Hannah Montana' star recently returned to her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, and loved being able to hang out with her pals and do the regular things she can't do when she's in Los Angeles.
She said: "I got on the plane to Georgia, and I was lying in my mom's lap and crying and saying, 'I'm so happy to be getting out of Los Angeles.'
"I went out every night with my friends. I did karaoke. I danced. All this stuff would've been such a big deal in Los Angeles: Who's she with? Why is she dancing? I felt alive and real. It's so much easier to know who you are when there aren't a thousand people telling you who they think you are. I felt like I was really figuring myself out. Usually I have someone whispering in my ear, but I was on my own."
However, although she enjoyed being with her friends, the 17-year-old singer-and-actress never felt she fitted in when she was growing up because she was so determined to be a star.
Miley - daughter of 90s singer Billy Ray Cyrus - told Harper's Bazaar magazine: "I never felt at home anywhere. I almost felt like I didn't belong because no one understood the singing or the acting. They thought it was glamorous, but they didn't see that it was work. I knew it was hard work because of my dad, and I never wanted that. I wasn't stoked to walk a carpet because that just seemed normal to me."
